Capulet is a drum synthesiser with four bespoke virtual-analogue voices: kick, drum, snare and cymbal, all synthesised in real time without samples. A 16-step sequencer with probability, rolls and per-step modulation turns them into grooves that keep evolving.
Analogue character
Four voices inspired by classic drum machines, with transformer drive and fast, precise envelopes.
Patterns that evolve
Probability, conditions, rolls and per-step modulation keep a 16-step pattern changing for bars on end.
Ten outputs
A stereo main pair, plus a separate stereo pair for each voice.
Four voices, four engines
Each voice has its own synthesis engine. The kick blends a hard click or noise transient with a pitch-swept oscillator, driven through a transformer for weight. The drum voice adds FM and noise for toms, congas and zaps. The snare pairs a resonant noise filter with a tuned body. The cymbal blends noise and metallic tones through an enveloped filter for hats and crashes. Envelopes and modulation are sample-accurate throughout.
Draw in the dynamics
Drag across the velocity lane to shape a whole bar in one stroke: accents on the beat, ghost notes in between, or a swell into the next phrase.

Patterns that never quite repeat
Give any step a probability, or a condition: first loop only, every loop except the first, or a chosen loop in a repeating cycle, such as the fourth of every four. A 16-step pattern becomes a phrase many bars long. Repeatable random sounds random but plays the same way each time you press play, so a take you like stays put in your arrangement.

Rolls and ratchets
Add a roll to any step, up to four beats long, at the speed you choose, with velocity ramping up or down.

Modulation on every step
Four modulation lanes per track let you change any of that voice's parameters from step to step: retune a drum into a bassline, open the cymbal filter on the offbeats, or vary the kick's drive through the bar.

Polymeter, swing and nudge
Each track has its own length, direction, step division, swing and nudge. Run the hats over 12 steps against a 16-step kick, play the snare backwards, or nudge it late for a lazier feel.

Fits the way you work
Each voice has its own stereo output alongside the master, ready for your own processing. Capulet follows your DAW's tempo and transport, plays its voices from MIDI notes on any channel, and in VST3 sends its sequence out as MIDI to drive other instruments.
Ready to play
59 factory presets with 236 patterns between them. Step through them from the toolbar, or load one at random.
